Antoya Lee’s letter to Ronny Cush.

After she bought and read his book AFRICAN ROOTS.

Date: September 29, 2017.

Hi Ronny, I'm not sure if I have the best words to describe the pleasureI I had in reading your book. I am so blown away. Your book is captivating. I enjoy reading books that increase my knowledge, as I am eager to learn: and you as the author have delivered on feeding my mind. Questions and subjects I'd hoped you covered, you did and more by educating me on things that I would not have easily acquired. I am that woman, and my mother is that woman you described at the end of the book. Those people you described in the 'Know Thyself Section', I see them, I meet them everyday.

My soul for so long have longed for such missing information and confirmation. Your book has liberated me. It's the worst kind of feeling to have lived all my years without knowing my true identity, the insecurity and low self esteem, because I was not sure where to seek validation and approval. Thank you for opening my eyes and enlightening me. Your effort and time was not in vain. It changed me. Your book covers many aspects of black history with brevity and insight. It is loaded with valuable information, yet refreshing. I was schooled the right way. This is the kind of book I'd hoped we had in our public and other educational institutions when I was younger.

African Roots is a wonderful book, it gave me a historical timeline, the opportunity to understand the journey and the struggles our ancestors suffered. Finally I got the whole picture. More importantly, you explained our spiritual dilemma, the self hate, and the identity crisis which is so detrimental to black people as a whole. I don't get to meet many black leaders or successful people who actually care about us. They talk about our deficiencies, but that is all they do, just talk, you did something, thank you.

Best regards

Antoya Lee.
